Vivi watches video

Exhibition at A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro, 2004.
"Vivi watches video" addresses the problem of the exhibition of video and its condition as a collectible object, thinking how such object is related to the circuit gallery - collector - museum.

Lonesome (2004, 3:19 min)
single-channel video, NTSC, color, sound, 3:19 min, 2004. The video shows a wedding photo session of a Korean couple in the winter garden of the World Financial Center, recorded in 1998. The installed version of this work was projected for the show.

video edition made for the gallery A Gentil Carioca. References to art history in Brazil, especially Rio de Janeiro, pointing to two artists Meireles and Manuel Antonio, through the allusion to specific works of each – Meireles’ Redshift and the Flans of Antonio Manuel.
Feng Shui: Meireles, Manuel, Machado - The installed version of this work added another level of meaning referencing to a third artist Milton Machado.
